Mediator's Disclaimer: As a mediator I am a neutral third party and I do not provide legal advice, make binding decisions, or guarantee the outcome of the mediation.
Mediation is a voluntary and flexible process. While usually non-binding, depending on the type of mediation, the goal of the mediation is a settlement. The settlement could be full or partial. The parties who participate in mediation have to craft their settlement agreement based on their specific needs and wishes.
The core of the mediation process is to offer a platform, through the intervention of a neutral and impartial mediator, to identify and address the core of the issue while preserving human relationships and resolving matters quickly, which results in considerable savings of time, stress, and money.
We assist parties in resolving their disputes and designing their own resolution, regardless of the complexity of the issue at hand. In mediation, parties are offered a chance to “assess” the reality of their own case, while learning more about the opposing party’s interests and priorities. Mediation is a dynamic and participative process, where each party has a chance to take an active role in their conflict while learning how to manage and craft their solutions.
In mediation, parties have a unique chance not only to hear and learn about the other party’s objectives, goals, and what they expect to achieve, but also to learn that flexibility matters while shaping one’s own position on settlement and resolution of their conflict. The highly participative manner of the mediation process gives parties confidence in their own position while allowing them to brainstorm solutions for a resolution.
